Curt Schilling 2.0

Starting a blog these days is almost mainstream. I mean, if Youk can do it, then how does that make Curt the Internet guru of the clubhouse? By going 2.0 of course. Aside from hitting the Sons of Sam Horn message boards, blogging at 38pitches.com, and hanging out in a virtual world or two, Schilling can now be found on Facebook.

Curt Schilling: Facebook Profile

For those of you who aren’t up to speed on the social networking giant, Facebook, let’s just call it MySpace with a refined touch. Facebook’s platform was recently opened up to developers to add functionality for it’s users. One such functionality was to show your support for charities and to help raise funds through your social network. It is with introducing his charity, Curt’s Pitch for ALS, to a younger generation in mind that Curt takes to the “wall” on Facebook.

It’s always fun to see Schilling leverage current Internet trends in positive ways and interact with fans in a genuine way along the way.

Curt, if you read this, feel free to give me a “poke” on Facebook and I’ll happily extend a donation to the charity (to tell the truth, I have done and will do it anyway, but poke away).

UPDATE: Curtis Schilling accepted my friend request on Facebook. He just knocked Jerry Azumah down off the most famous person in my Facebook friends list. Sorry Jerry.
