He could just roll right from the bullpen to the ballot box and run away with that election. As I first saw on The Red Sox Times, Curt Schilling announced on the morning show of Dennis & Callahan on WEEI in Boston that in fact he will not be retiring at the end of the 2007 season. He has already been in discussions with the Red Sox front office and said during the interview that he will be sitting down with the Sox front office to discuss an extension. He also stated that he wants to stay and pitch in Boston during the 2008 season. I guess this means he won’t be running against Senator Kerry in 2008 for the Massachusetts U.S. Senate seat that Kerry currently holds.
