What's hysterical is the inference that Curt Schilling could actually beat a Democrat in Massachusetts. Let's also, kids, see how well he pitches this year before committing to next year.

Hell, if he pitches well in 2008 and gets the Sox deep into the playoffs, he wouldn't have to campaign against Kerry. He could just roll right from the bullpen to the ballot box and run away with that election.

I don't live in Massachusetts, and am not a Republican, but I'd love to see that happen (mostly because it means a good year for the Sox in 2008 from Curt)

[...] There’s a reason why I read other sports blogs because you usually can pick up something from a blog that you, the reader, may not read. As I first saw on The Red Sox Times, Curt Schilling announced on the morning show of Dennis & Callahan on WEEI in Boston that in fact he will not be retiring at the end of the 2007 season. He has already been in discussions with the Red Sox front office and said during the interview that he will be sitting down with the Sox front office to discuss an extension. He also stated that he wants to stay and pitch in Boston during the 2008 season. I guess this means he won’t be running against Senator Kerry in 2008 for the Massachusetts U.S. Senate seat that Kerry currently holds. [...]

Wow, we ALL picked up on this. And Curt will pitch for us in '08...if he wants to. There is no way the Sox will prevent him from retiring on any other club. He's going to have a great year, and until someone tells me otherwise, and that's impossible, HE IS OUR ACE! Great post......P
